This week I started creating a tool in Houdini for our main effect, the ground breaking and cracking apart behind a driving car. It was suggested to me to create the large pieces using procedural animation to save on sim time.
Process
Created the crack using an L-Tree
Split the road geometry in half based on the crack
Fractured the road
Animated the two halves of the road independently based on the motion of the crack
Goals
For next week I am hoping to make the animation more believable. In order to do this I need to research more about for loops. If I can get the animation looking better by the end of the week I intend to start on the smaller RBD pieces.
